5 years ago, I would not have even dared to start a passion project, let alone a micro business.
I had a really hard time starting and sustaining conversations, functioning in public, and maintaining friendships. I dreaded riding public transport and paying at the cashier. Until now, I still find all these challenging, but I find them more manageable now.
Sometimes, it’s a matter of “faking it ‘til you make it” while most of the time, I believe it has been the result of going out of my comfort zone, one step at a time.
Fast forward to having started H+H, my humble business is slowly growing into a community. From just selling to make the ends meet, I became a solopreneur wherein I was motivated by matters other than profit.
I had some of the youth of Los Banos by my side when I started and still do up to now. Eventually, I met all the lovely people who work to better the community and, in many ways, they inspired me which led me to better my business and brand with their efforts in mind.
Now, I am #SolopreneurNoMore now that H+H has a new team member and is now opening its space for partner makers of crafts and of food. It’s slowly getting bigger than my fears and hesitations.
